South East London
The South East London sub-region covers the boroughs of:
Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark.
Sub-regional committee
We are in the final stages of convening a group of workforce professionals from across the 6 south east boroughs of London to reconsider how best the sub-regional committee and network might progress. The initial meeting scheduled for September 2010 will then report back to our stakeholders across the south east with the preliminary outline of activities.
We plan to take a view on local workforce development initiatives/priorities in response to policy implementation in areas such as dementia, the ongoing development of the new Qualifications framework, local progress with transformation issues across PVI providers (e.g. the developing 'market place' and emerging new roles in response to transformation, models of brokerage) and consider potential efficiencies achievable through improved collaboration.
Additionally, as local and more integrated workforce strategies begin to evolve across the sub region, we are keen to explore how collaborative employer engagement events could provide members with focused opportunities to share information and best practice, explore partnership opportunities and gather local and sub regional intelligence.
Further to this, it is our intention to facilitate an employer-led network that offers efficiencies through timely information sharing, co-production of employer-led events with key sector partners and the sharing of agendas which progress and respond to the longer term vision for the sector as it emerges in the new political landscape.
